December Health Reminder: Stay Healthy Through the Holidays

December Health Reminder: Stay Healthy Through the Holidays | Yarmouth

The holiday season is here—a time for connection, celebration, and crisp Cape Cod winter air. It’s also a peak period for respiratory illness such as flu, COVID, and RSV. While Yarmouth Medical Center does not administer vaccines in-office, we encourage patients to receive recommended vaccines at their local pharmacy if they haven’t already.

A few ways to stay healthy this month:

  • Vaccines & prevention: Flu, COVID, and RSV shots are widely available at pharmacies like CVS, Walgreens, and Stop & Shop.
  • Manage holiday stress: Make time for rest, hydration, and balanced meals between celebrations.
  • Reduce germ spread: Wash hands often, cover coughs, and consider masks in crowded indoor spaces.
  • Travel prepared: Refill medications early and carry a small health kit when heading out of town.
  • Winter safety: Be mindful of icy walkways—especially important for older adults to prevent falls.

From all of us at Yarmouth Medical Center, we wish you a warm, healthy holiday season. Stay well and enjoy time with family and friends!
